Hi, Citehr.

I have noticed that instead of using email IDs, it is suggested to use Private Messages. However, using Personal Messages can be time-consuming. Who will manage if there are too many messages?

I agree. If there is any specific reason — misuse, etc.- for this, then CiteHR should find another way to handle it. Rgds, TS

Hi,

This is not how it works.

If I have good material that is large in size, I may ask users or they may inquire because they are unable to open the link. If you want to contact me, you can write to ravi.exe at gmail dot com.

At the end of the day, how can I view the emails, make modifications, and send them back with the material to everyone? Is this practical?

Even before, when the emails could not be copied, users faced problems. How can they come, write all emails on paper, and then send them? This is not practical and takes a lot of time.

I believe we need to find a solution to this issue.

I have noticed many threads with numerous posts requesting material via email IDs, but how many actually send them back?

CITEHR and members, let's come together and provide solutions.

Thanks

We wanted to discourage members from posting their email addresses for several reasons:

1) It attracts bad bots that scavenge for email addresses and eventually spam the ones found.

2) The thread becomes unnecessarily long, causing problems while reading and also leading to extra page loads that strain the server.

3) Asking members to email the material is not useful - very few will actually email the material to 100 email addresses because they would have to write each one themselves. Our server converts email addresses to images, preventing them from being copy-pasted.

Since this issue is causing problems for members, we are reverting back to the image substitution.

Great, one more suggestion: If you see other forums - I mean the forums in which discussions on films, movies, bikes, etc., take place - they are more strict than citehr. There is always a team of moderators who are 24 hours active, and if any member is found violating a rule, their post is edited and they are warned.

Take my suggestion and remove all phone numbers and email addresses of the members from their posts and signatures. Also, appoint some good moderators to monitor the posts 24/7 and give them the authority to modify the posts.

Hi,

First of all, why are you advertising a link in your signature?

I don't think there is a need to remove phone numbers and email ids. These are useful for fast communication, just for your information.

I need your signature:

What a big joke... It seems you're too immature. Just click on that link; it is my personal sharing folder, and lots of members have downloaded material from it. It's not advertising; it's sharing knowledge. :-x:-x:-x
