Dear Jayavishali,
It should be mentioned in your appointment letter. How much is your Notice Period? Because company-wise notice periods vary. Some companies have a one-month, two-month, or three-month notice period. If you do not have the notice period specified in your appointment letter, ask indirectly to your HR department.
Kindly feel free to contact if there is any confusion.

Dear Shreyan,
Thank you for your reply. The notice period for my company is one month. Should I inform them about my resignation one month in advance? Should I do so through a letter or orally? Please explain to me if there is a specific format for the notice period. If there is a format, kindly send it to me.

Jayanthi,
If you wish to resign from your current employer, you will need to tender your resignation on paper to your reporting manager, who will then forward it to HR. Referring to your appointment letter, you can determine the notice period to be served (one month in your case). Additionally, you should mention in the letter whether you intend to serve the full one-month notice period or if you would like to be relieved earlier. Please note that failing to serve the notice period may result in the organization deducting the shortfall from your final settlement.
I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck in your new assignment.

If you wish to know how to communicate about your notice period in your resignation letter, you can include the following statement: "Please consider the date of this resignation letter (put the actual date) as the start of my notice period."
Hope this helps.

Dear Jayanthi,
I do agree with Suja. Serve the one-month notice period. Don't forget to keep a copy of your resignation letter; it will be helpful and supportive for your next employer as a reference. You can send it either by mail or write it on paper and hand it over in person to your reporting manager.

Venkatesh

You should put resignation before 1 month in writing and take received signature from HR department.

If you wish to switch over from the current organization, you first have to tender your resignation. The resignation should include a date and you should ask your employer to relieve you as per the terms and conditions of the appointment letter. As you mentioned, there is a one-month notice period, so you need to serve for one month from the date of resignation.
I want to share my experiences that when you leave an organization, maintain your relationships because in the future, you will benefit from it.

Hi,
There are 2 ways here:
1. You can serve your complete 1-month notice period.
2. You can check if the notice period can be bought, i.e., if your PM agrees to relieve you before 1 month, you can check with HR on the buyout amount that would be deducted from your salary at F&F. You can get it reimbursed once you join another company.

Dear Jayanthi,
As already mentioned by Shreyansh, the notice period varies from company to company. However, as it is stated in your appointment letter that you have to serve a notice for 1 month, I would suggest you adhere to this requirement. Leaving your current company on good terms now will help you avoid any potential consequences in the future. Build a strong foundation so that you can confidently move forward with your future endeavors.
