Hello All.

Posting herewith a superb PPS file that'll manage to boggle most minds. And yes, most of us would have learned it when we were at school 😄. Forward this to your Finance team and see how it works! Wishing a great Sunday to all.

Really a good one Dipali. Thanks However, I have a feeling that the ppt are not created by you. And, in such cases, we should really quote the source to avoid plagiarim. Have a nice day. Narasimhan

Hi Narasimhan,

This PowerPoint presentation is definitely not created by me. In fact, nothing of what I have posted so far has been created by me. But you know how mailing groups are. This one, in particular, I received from a friend called Sejal, who got it from her son studying in 5th grade. The son received it from a friend at school and brought it home on his pen drive, just like any of his other lessons.

Now, if I come across something good that has been mailed to me, and yet I'm unable to name the source, should I share it with others or not? Or perhaps a simple solution would be to mention "Source - Unknown." Do let me know what sounds good to you.

Best regards,
Dipali

Hello again. I just noticed similar comments on many other posts (all of whom have not claimed to have been authors of the content they have posted).

How about adding one more rule to guidelines on posting? If posting anything that's forwarded to you and you cannot find out the original source, just put it as 'Source - Unknown'. I'm sure at least 50% of the content here is something that someone has received as an email from somewhere, and would like to share because it's good benefit for everyone at large - how would they mention the internet source in that case?

And I'm just as sure that none of these people who post such info have any intention of grabbing unwarranted limelight of being the producers/creators of that content. Do figure a way out because not everyone sources from the internet, some of us do get fantastic info by email that we may like to share.

Best regards,
Dipali

I agree with Ms. Dipali....coz there are so many things that are not created by us but we prefer to share with our CITE HR. Best Regards. Luza

This is very bad to point out who created this. This is a matter of exchanging thoughts and knowledge with each other. This is the site where we share the knowledge gained from friends and friends. Dipali, it is really good to share knowledgeable things.

Dear Mr. Narasimhan,

It is not wrong to mention the source of the material that many people 'publish.' Plagiarism is the act of appropriating the literary composition of another author, or excerpts, ideas, or passages therefrom, and passing the material off as one's own creation.

Your suggestion to my learned friends is simple - mention the source whenever you post another's material. This helps the original author feel happy about the work. Remember, it could be yours one day!

Good luck to you all.

Hi,

I completely agree with what Dipali has shared. What is important is the knowledge and not the source. Let's be a little more open to knowledge rather than making comments about things that are not really important. I think (Nash....) should avoid such statements. I mean it is just a thought. I also think that if we post such comments, the other person might just get discouraged to post the details.

Thank you,

Dear Diplai,

I am thankful to you for sharing a very good thing with us (the math calculation) and for expressing your views about mentioning the source. I agree with you, and I believe the majority will support your stance.

Hey all!!

Someone has rated this post 5 stars (I swear I didn't do it myself), and this PPT certainly deserves it. Thanks to whoever has done so.

Just for the record, I have not mentioned the original source anywhere because I do not know, but I certainly liked it enough to share it with all.

Have a great weekend ahead!!
